Celtics / NBA OPENER!!!

IT'S BASKETBALL SEASON!

The C's are @ home tonight to open the season against the new look Heat. The total of the game has taken a dip from 193 to 198.5.  Somewhat interesting. It seems as though Shaq will be in the starting lineup tonight. Dwayne Wade will not dress for the game and everyone knows that this is not the usual NBA opener. "There's never been an opening game that has been more heavily anticipated" said Celtics guard Ray Allen. " I do believe that people are definitely excited to see them more than they're excited about seeing us. Truly they know, as a team, what we represented. The two teams are Eastern Conference powerhouses. It's going to be a game". Bottom line is this game will ultimately come down to defense and rebounding. As much as it may seem that both of these teams are offensive minded, the deciding factor in this game tonight, much like the playoffs will be defense. Then I was wondering if I'm buying into the hype too much and maybe this game isn't nearly as big as everyone is making it out to be. But I say screw that. This is a tone setter for the season. I know Dwayne Wade is out but Lebron is no longer in Cleveland and everyone wants to see the show. How good will the Heat look? How good will Lebron and Bosh be together? Can the Heat play team defense? There are a lot of questions to be answered tonight. I think one answer we will have after tonight is that the Eastern Conference is anything but a one horse race. I don't think you can under estimate the depth of the Celtics. And with Dwayne Wade watching in what I can only assume will be a very fashionable suit tonight, there is no way the Heat can match the depth. The C's are home dogs and even though I wouldn't suggest touching a game until 2-3 weeks into the season after teams have barley developed an identity, I'm buying into the hype and I like the Celtics toughness over the Heat's stardom.

THE PICK CELTICS +1
