Week In Review

YTD (50-27-5)

This Week: (9-3-1)

Well this was the kind of weekend we thought we could have and were glad it went down like this. The scary thing is that it could have been even better. Stanford ended up pushing after failing to score late in the game to cover and the Browns lost in OT with :16 seconds left on the clock. And the Jets missed a 35 yard field goal in OT that would have given them  W and us the W. Imagine we got both of those games and finished the weekend 11-2. Would have been nice, but we certainly aren't complaining. We saw a lot of spreads we really, really liked this weekend. Perhaps the one we loved the most this weekend was by far the worst loss. UTAH! I guess they still had that hangover from the shellacking they received from TCU. There is no way Notre Dame is that much more skilled than Utah. Just no way. The Falcons started the week off right on Thursday night in a game we loved. Yes, it was a great 80 yard drive in 49 seconds but don't forget the Falcons were up two touchies going into the 4th quarter. We were on the right side of that one the whole game, and most importantly after it finished. Fresno St. battled Nevada to cover and Wash St battled Oregon St to cover. Auburn put off field distractions aside and took care of Georgia and V. Tech took care of UNC on the road. The game we liked the most next to Utah was Ok. State at Texas and we were on the right side of that one from the beginning. Ok State put it on em good. On Sunday we called for the Bills first win of the season and got it and we also called the Bears taking care of business as home dogs against a internally messy Vikings squad. Finally we took the Pats over the Steelers and we heard a lot about this one. Everyone seemed to think  we were crazy. But if you actually watched the last couple of Steelers games I think you would have been on our side. They got out to an early lead against Cincy thanks to some early mistakes by the Bengals special teams and the Steelers still barely hung on to win. If Carson Palmer could have completed a 5 yard pass at the end of that one, the Bengals would have beaten the Steelers. And everyone freaked out when the Pats looked terrible at Cleveland. But we called that too. We said it was a trap game and we said not to touch it, and to not be surprised if Cleveland won outright. And they did. The best thing about a trap game is that they happen because teams are already focused on the next weekend. AKA @ Pitt for the Pats. This is a game that could potentially determine home field advantage in the AFC Championship game. You really think the Pats and Bill Belichick are going to lay an egg in a game like that? Cmon Maaaan. That would have been my Cmon Man if I was on Monday Night Football. We don't love as many games this weekend, but we definitely see some winners.
